Frimpong Signs For Arsenal… Kind Of

Throughout the years of the Premier League there have always been those players who thought that their shit didn’t stink. Usually these players were hot prospects in the beginning of their career that failed to live up to the hype, Cleverley, Ranger, Bentley, we’re talking about you.

Tom Cleverley

Another such player is Emmanuel Frimpong, the man who was lined up to be Arsenal’s midfield general before falling short of the mark at around 20 years of age. Frimpong ended up on loan spells at the likes of Wolves, Charlton and Fulham before being offloaded to footballing giants Barnsley in 2014 where he was unfortunately released after just 4 months. In spite of his inability to play the game, Frimpong has always been a fervent social media user and has attempted in the past to mix the beautiful game with the London grime scene, befriending rappers Stormy and Lethal Bizzle and over using the word ‘Dench’ as he produced a clothing line of the same name, that kind of stuff you can get away with when you’re playing for a top 4 Premier League club, but after getting released by Barnsely… not so much.

Frimpong’s career has now taken an interesting turn as he signs for Russian side Arsenal Tula, located in a city around 200km from Moscow, the side have just been promoted to the top flight of Russian football. Frimpong will no doubt have a chance of regular football as he looks to try to kickstart his career that went from dench to stench.
