Jose Mourinho Takes Swipe at Bayern Munich Over Schweinsteiger

Jose Mourinho’s treatment of Bastian Schweinsteiger over the course of the summer has brought the Manchester United men a lot of publicity since Mourinho’s decision that the German World Cup winner was surplus to requirements. Schweinsteiger has come out of all of this as the victim but reports are starting to circle that the German was more committed to watching his missus Ana Ivanovic play tennis than focus on his training.

Mourinho is unlikely to really give a shit what people say about how he runs his club and his team despite Schweinsteiger’s brother and well, anyone German, having their say. Bayern Munich however, have piped in defence of their former poster boy, something to which Mourinho felt he had to speak about.

“I read some quotes from people at Bayern and thought they would run to Manchester to bring him back, but no. I’m quite surprised Mr Rummenigge is not here now to take him back.”

Jose went on to speak about his decision to do without the German midfielder and in all honesty, you can see his point:

“I think it’s very difficult for Schweinsteiger.  I’m not saying it’s impossible, it’s very difficult. We have a decision made about Pogba, Herrera, Schneiderlin, Fellaini, Michael Carrick. We have five players for two positions. It’s very, very difficult that an opportunity will arrive.”

Schweinsteiger recently tweeted that he Manchester United would be his last European club so it looks like the German is going to jump on the gravy train to the MLS, China or the Middle East to see out the rest of his playing days, and to be fair, who could blame him.
