Gerard Pique Reveals Brutal and Epic Prank on Evra

There is nothing better than hearing a behind-the-scenes footballing story from ex and current players, quite why we don’t get more of them is beyond us but when they come along we feel it’s our duty to share them with you all. Gerard Pique has been pretty vocal over the summer, giving his opinions on various players and managers like Zidane and Wenger and more recently discussing how he snared Colombian pop princess Shakira by asking her about the weather of all things!

Pique has also revealed a little about his Manchester United playing days and an epic prank that they played on Patrice Evra, absolutely fucking brutal, but equally epic and it turns out that the Barca boys don’t quite get that British sense of humour. Here is Pique’s version of events and how he felt during those Manchester United days as told to TV3:

“Here at Barca, my humour hasn’t always been appreciated by everyone. I deflate teammates tires and other things, but this is nothing compared to what happened at United. One day Patrice Evra came in with shoes that he’d been asking Nike for months to make. They had the name of his children on them and all these crazy details.”

“He went into the shower and we created a small bonfire and burned them. We recorded it and then sent him the video.”

“In the first few years here (at Barca) I tried similar things but it didn’t work. It’s not the same culture. At United they would take an expensive shirt that you have bought and put it on the free-kick mannequins. The shirt would be ruined because of all the mud it would get on it every time the ball hit it. It was a dressing room full of life.”
