He’s a man who’s made a solid name for himself in footballing circles thanks to an unbridled passion for the game and an uncanny knack at ‘bunging’ himself out of precarious situations.

Now he’s back again. This time with a scintillating book of management tips, designed for coaches from all walks of life and featuring cherry-picked lines from the man himself’s 20-year journals, scrawled on the back of Little Chef napkins.

Harry Redknapp, someone that has all the looks of 80’s TV-star Alf but a managing style thats all too terrestrial, is the man-turned-business author in question.

The ex-Tottenham Hotspur, QPR and West Ham manager is going toe-to-toe with The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari in a bid to take over the Amazon Bestseller lists and piss all over Tony Robbins’ smug face.

The title of his book, “I Just Tell Them to Fucking Run Around a Bit”, is taken from what Redknapp deems one of his number one management principles, a hands-off approach that deliberately avoids “all the modern bullshit” that all the “nonce managers use”.

Redknapp, catching up in Wetherspoons after a promotional tour of the book in Shepton Mallett, had this to say.

The title of the book is worth the ten-quid alone. Right there you’ve got my number one secret. My mantra, if you will.

When times get tough? Tell them just to go fucking run around a bit.

When times are good? Tell them to just go fucking run around a bit.

It hasn’t failed me yet.”

Early reviews of the book are keen to highlight the wisdom of of Redknapp’s teachings, with some reviewers calling it “The Think and Coach Rich” of the modern age.

A critic from the Guardian, on the other hand, has derided it as “baseless shit”, even going as far to say Redknapp should be jailed for a such a “piss poor” effort.

Benjani, who gives a foreword, is already reported to have the bail money saved up.
