The Top Scorer in Arsenal/Tottenham Derbies (Clue: It’s Not Henry)

It’s the Arsenal vs Tottenham north London derby this weekend with the rivals battling for 4th place in the Premiership. In the build up to the saucy fixture; an even saucier statistic has blossomed whilst reviewing the impending game.

Who is the top scorer ever in this fixture? The legendary Mr Henry? Ian Wright, Wright, Wright? Or how about Gareth Bale? Defoe as an outside bet?

The answer is in fact, resident White Hart Lane diva – Emmanuel Adebayor, with ten goals. It’s maybe less surprising due to the fact that he shamefully did the slutty football taboo thing and swapped (albeit not directly like a certain Sol Campbell) rival clubs. Which could suggest he’s had more opportunities to up his goal tally in this fixture.

Adebayor almost signed for West Ham on deadline day and is sure to not get a sniff with Harry Kane’s successful onslaught to take over the world. Will Pochettino play his Togolese trump card on Saturday? The neutrals surely hope so for pure dramatic purposes.

For any Arsenal fan who doubts Adebayor’s adoration for the Gooners – here’s a video of him sprinting a full length of the pitch to thank them for all their support during his time at the Emirates…
